Welcome to my website. I have made a personal commitment to quality in selecting materials and crafting each handmade piece. Only the finest materials are used, including Swarovski Crystal, freshwater pearls, semi-precious gemstone beads, Czech glass beads, and one-of-a-kind fine silver clay elements. Only sterling silver, fine silver and 14K gold filled findings, beads, spacers and wire are used in the creation of my wearable pieces.

Over the past four years, as I have studied fabrication techniques, I learned that I am ultimately happy when working with metal, beads and gemstones to create wearable jewelry. I continue to study color, design and silver fabrication techniques, so check back often to see my newest offerings. Designing is my creative passion and I take so much pleasure in creating and offering my designs to you, a discerning jewelry collector.

I enjoy sharing what I have learned about jewelry design, through demonstrations and workshops. I currently teach several half-day workshops at Southwestern Community College, in Chula Vista, CA. Check their website for the non-credit current class schedule

A native Californian, I have lived in the San Diego area my entire life. I design and handcraft all jewelry from my home studio in San Diego, California.

I am so grateful to God for the talents He has given me and for the many wonderful people in my life who have inspired me. This includes my late father, Leo for showing me that you can do anything (and he could!) and my late mother, Mary for sharing her love of jewelry, color and creativity. All of the Cota women, in my life continue to be inspirations for their spirit and love of "familia".

It is also important to acknowledge my teachers and mentors. I have had the opportunity to study fabrication with jewelry artist, Deb Jemott, a fabulous teacher, who continues to raise the bar on expectations, yet is so willing to share her incredible knowledge of metal work. I have also had a chance to study with local wire worker extraordinaire, Connie Fox. She is so unselfish in her knowledge using a gentle, encouraging and empowering teaching approach. She has inspired me to take more chances with the use of color in my jewelry designs, and to fly and find my own unique style.

Last, but not least a thank you to my incredible husband, Gary and amazing daughter, Lauren for always supporting my creative needs and whims. The two of you always believed!

JEWELRY MAKING WORKSHOPS

 
Why not plan a jewelry making workshops in the comfort of your own home?

Workshop bookings are available in the San Diego, California area, evenings and selected weekends. Book now so you can have time to create your own unique holiday gifts!

Workshops include:

Coil Bracelets – In this fun and easy workshop you will learn all about Memory Wire. Easily create coil bracelets, necklaces or wine glass charms and more. Learn how to create a dangle (wire wrapped bead on a headpin) to professionally finish your design.

Basic Stringing – Learn basic stringing techniques which can be used to make necklaces and bracelets. You will learn how to create jewelry using different stringing methods including beading wire (stainless steel wrapped in a nylon coating), silk and leather cords, and elastic cord. You will learn how to professionally finish each type of stringing material and attach clasps using crimp beads. This is workshop is perfect for learning to make your own custom jewelry, or for repairing something you already have.

Basic Wire Work – Explore the tools, materials and techniques to make a one-of-a-kind wire bracelet. In this workshop we will cover how to make single eye pins, double eye pins, jump rings, wire wrapped bead, a dangle or two, and a simple clasp.

Most of my jewelry designs in the Gallery can be adapted for different metals or stones.
